About SGB SKO and our task

The SKO program at SGB (School Savings Bank in Cooperative Banking Group) is a nationwide financial education program aimed at primary school students. Its main goals and components include:

    1. Developing Saving Habits
Students learn to regularly save money – even small amounts – in the form of a “mini-account” managed by their teacher/supervisor and the bank. This encourages systematicity and responsibility.
    2. Smart Management and Financial Awareness
Children learn the basic principles of budget management, understand the value of money, and plan their expenses (e.g., for a bicycle, a ticket, or a game).
    3. Banking Education and Entrepreneurship
The program develops knowledge about cooperative banking and the history of money, and stimulates creativity through quizzes, games, competitions, and editorial activities.

We had the pleasure of creating its initial concept and developing a dedicated subpage for this project.

    Development of a functional concept
    for the platform

A series of workshops developed the functional model for the platform/website.

SKOwSGB.pl also featured a competition platform. Users could participate in games related to creative approaches to saving. Winners received attractive prizes. Users also found interactive tools for creating comics and designing T-shirts. Teachers using the website had free access to teaching materials and useful solutions for managing student savings within the SKO.

The project was developed in collaboration with the Men At Work agency. eFresh was responsible for developing the concept, implementing the solution, and providing ongoing support for its development. The project has regular iterations, featuring new competition mechanisms and a communication concept.

    Graphic Design and Mockups

Your First Piggy Bank – For this project, we used hand-drawn elements in the graphic design because we felt they would be best suited for primary school grades 1-4.

We divided the graphic design process into stages, the goal of which was to develop complete pre-implementation documentation:
Step I – Preparing a conceptual design for the homepage
Step II – Corrections and refinement of the homepage in the mobile and desktop versions
Step III – Designing the remaining unique views in the desktop and mobile versions
Step IV – Preparing clickable mockups in Figma and supporting documentation (1. Content specification 2. Editable and non-editable specifications)

Additional material included a diagram illustrating how the contests would work, along with a description of the databases and functional requirements.

    Implementation of a website
    with competition functions

Implementation work was divided into 5 sprints (each sprint lasting 10 business days), including: 7 business days for developer work, 4 hours for QA testing, 4 hours for corrections, and 1 day for client-side testing. Each sprint included 1 day for corrections; if the project was completed faster, we would start a new sprint. The entire implementation, including the development and testing of the databases for collecting competition data, took 2 months.

    Progress management and monitoring:

    • In the Monday.com system, we maintained a board accessible to the client and the team, where we monitored project progress.
    • The client reviewed each sprint and provided feedback in sprint comments.
    • The closing of each sprint, the acceptance protocol, and the billing of work were all done remotely.
    • After the implementation was complete, it took us approximately 5 days to test the BETA version, i.e., with the finished content.
    • We conducted testing based on the description of the business-side test scenarios provided by the client.

    Preparing for website
    publication

The pre-publication process is similar for each implementation. Our goal is to maintain quality and avoid errors during the transition to LIVE.

    • BETA version – created as a ready-made mechanism for use by administrators and editors on the client’s side, it has full functionality. In the case of SKO SGB, eFresh was responsible for implementing all content and maintaining it
    • Training and support for the client’s administrator on the BETA version – we provide standard training and assistance to the client’s team in the event of any issues
    • Manual testing in a test environment, including forms, social media links, and external integrations, such as sending contest data to databases on the client’s servers
    • Page loading speed optimization
    • SEO optimization, remarketing database launch, and website metering
    • Security testing – these were extremely important to our client given the banking industry
