    A corridor, a company kitchen, an elevator or an email sent to everyone may not be enough when we want to communicate with employees properly. This applies to both vertical and horizontal communication in an organization. The tool that will facilitate the management of information flow in a company is undoubtedly the intranet.

    An intranet is an internal company network. All you need is a network and a computer for each employee to connect to it. This solution is already working in small businesses. An internal network allows for quick and easy transfer of information. Thanks to this, it improves communication in the company, helps to resolve the crisis at the very beginning, calms internal moods and helps to motivate employees.

    Easier and more pleasant access

    An internal network gives employees the opportunity to access information about the company. In addition to current events, co-workers have access to all company documents and can easily download the things they need, e.g. regulations, document templates or leave applications. The intranet is therefore a source of the most needed files and allows you to save time on writing some documents from scratch while ensuring their correctness. Of course, if necessary, some information can be blocked and made available to selected employees. This is something that cannot be done with a paper internal bulletin. In addition, the internal network can also be a knowledge base in the field the company deals with, and employees can support each other and share their experience.

The internal network, in turn, can use the most important features of the Internet, such as accessibility, speed and interactivity. The intranet can be used by any employee, the content is transferred instantly and, what’s more, it can be responded to. Thanks to this, everyone can participate in the life of the company. Holidays, important events for the company, a colleague’s wedding, a colleague’s birthday, the organization of an integration event or a won tender – thanks to efficient internal communication, no one will be left out.

    Constant access to current information is also convenient for new employees. The internal network can contain a gallery of all the people working in the company along with information about their position and functions. In this way, everyone in the company, both new and senior employees, will know who to go to with a given problem. Thanks to the network, they have access to the company’s structure, its rules or work organization. Then, introducing new employees becomes faster and easier.

Easy communication between all employees of the company certainly improves and speeds up every work process. In addition, it is important to improve vertical communication, i.e. the superior and subordinates. I think we are all well aware of how difficult work can be due to poor communication at this level.

    An often forgotten element in the functioning of a company. A motivated employee is a good employee. The internal network allows you to improve this aspect as well. For example, by publishing interviews with employees, information about their achievements and contributions to the company, organizing competitions, campaigns and events or introducing motivational programs.
