W.Legutko Lottery
Implementation of a website to handle lotteries
About W.Legutko and his assumptions
The W. Legutko brand was founded over 30 years ago by Dr. Wiesław Legutko. Today, it is a leading producer of garden seeds and bulbs in Poland, selling over 50 million seed packets annually in over 60 countries. This family-owned Polish company with deep roots provides products essential for both hobby and professional gardening every day. In its cultivation and business operations, the brand places particular emphasis on protecting nature and plants. The lottery was one of the sales promotion activities associated with the #Zdroworosna2023 campaign.

About the #Zdroworosna campaign and the assumptions of the lottery

What is
#Zdroworosna?
#Zdroworosna is a nationwide educational campaign aimed at preschool children (ages 3–6) and students in grades 1–3 of primary school. The campaign combines environmental education, health education, and practical training – growing plants, primarily herbs and sprouts, on a home windowsill or in the classroom.
Goals of the campaign:
- Promoting healthy lifestyles and eating habits.
- Educating children and communities about growing plants from seed, without the need for a garden.
- Building pro-environmental attitudes and a love of nature
The role of the lottery in the #Zdroworosna campaing
The lottery was organized to stimulate interest in traditional trade in specific W. Legutko products (including herb and seed packages, home sprouting equipment, etc.). We were responsible for both organizing the lottery and providing technical support.
Graphic design
and preparation of clickable mockups of the campaign page
Based on the #zdroworosna campaign concept, w.legutko’s branding, and the UX work we’ve already completed, we designed a dedicated campaign subpage within the W.Legutk website (see the link to the W.Legutko corporate website portfolio). As part of the pre-implementation documentation, we developed:
- Clickable mockups of the campaign page in Figma – showing the campaign’s assumptions, sections explaining the rules for the class to join the program, forms enabling the verification process and receiving free educational packages (lesson package, package of seeds, pots and soil ready to organize a mini garden in the classroom)
- Educational content – we recorded video materials for teachers, developed teaching materials (lesson aids), prepared a guide for teachers and children, and carried out a photo session with the campaign ambassadors, i.e. Junior Masterchefs

Graphic design and preparation of clickable lottery website mockups
A separate subpage within the main W.Legutko website was the lottery subpage. As part of the preparatory work, we developed:
- a diagram of how the lottery website works and a mapping of the processes that the website had to handle (saving in databases, aggregating information for the needs of drawings)
- desktop and mobile mockup (clickable prototype) illustrating, among other things, the presentation of prizes, the operation of the calendar with drawing dates, and the structure and operation of forms
The lottery website is not an ordinary website – it contains relatively little information (prizes, rules), but it is crucial that it is presented in the most understandable way possible and makes it easier for the user to enter the Lottery.

Unique features
on the lottery website
The specific nature of lotteries, due to strong legal constraints, necessitates a unique subpage design. For the W. Legutko lottery, we implemented the following features:
- presentation of the rules of the campaign – the so-called rules section showing in an accessible and understandable way how to take part in the lottery and what to pay attention to
- draw calendar – due to the large number of draws (daily and weekly prizes), this functionality was crucial for participants
- participant database – along with the necessary proof of purchase, information compliant with GDPR data, prepared for use in draws and for deletion after the lottery ends (in accordance with the requirements of the Customs Chamber)
- product presentation – indication of products from the #zdroworosna line participating in the promotion
- winners’ page – a place where information about the awarded participants is presented

Website support during
lotteries and promotions
In organizing the campaign and lottery, we provided comprehensive technical support for the client’s activities:
- implementation and preparation of campaign and lottery subpages for publication (including testing of all functions and database connections)
- technical support in the operation of subpages, including: updates, ongoing monitoring of entries, automatic tests of the correct operation of the website and forms
- database management for class registrations and lottery participants
- support in preparing data for lottery prize draws
For the purposes of service and possible development work, we maintained for the Client:
- 1:1 live development test environment connected to test databases
- Master mockups and a clickable prototype for designing additional features or testing website changes
- Code repository for returning to baseline settings
- Backups of event participant databases
As usual, we provided the implementation price with full copyright to the designs and code, with the right to make any changes.

Summary
of the campaign and lottery
In the two editions of the campaign that we supported, over 5,000 schools participated and approximately 10,000 packages were distributed – this means almost 300,000 children covered by the program.
The campaign promoting the action reached 1,864,067 people throughout Poland.
Equally important is the fact that the corporate website gained a huge number of visits due to the introduction of a competition module in which children shared their achievements and published them on the W.Legutko website.
