About Smart, trade fairs around the world and our task
Smart Design Expo is a leader in Poland in the design and production of exhibition stands. The stands are custom-made in Poland and erected at trade fairs virtually all over the world. The company’s unique selling point, however, is its world-class design, in line with the latest trends.
Website Operation Assumptions and Preparatory Work
When we began work on the website, we found a great partner on the client’s side who had excellent market knowledge, awareness, and expert design skills. We conducted a competitor analysis and website building trends among the world’s largest companies in the industry. At this stage, we also analyzed customer journeys through the websites.

Unique portfolio presentation feature linked to the trade fair calendar
On the Smart Design Expo website, we’ve implemented a feature that links the calendar of key global trade fair events with a portfolio presentation. By selecting a trade fair at which to exhibit (by checking the calendar for trade fairs where Smart Design is present with another client’s booth), clients can view previously completed stand designs for a given theme and trade fair event.
This feature is important because user research has revealed that clients, due to both cost and experience, rely on the calendar to find stand contractors.

Graphic design
and preparation of clickable mockups
We were responsible for preparing low-fidelity mockups, developing their content and usability, and the client’s graphic design team designed the desktop versions of all subpages according to our guidelines. We then had to translate them to the mobile version.
During the design and preparation phase, we created:
- an extensive portfolio library,
- over 40 animation modules,
- a blog with tagging for specific service types,
- a newsletter integrated with Freshmail,
- an extensive career module.

Due to the very high visual quality of the designs and the use of numerous animations and videos showcasing the stands under construction, the implementation process was longer than usual, lasting approximately four months. The challenge for us was to reconcile multiple language versions, graphic quality, and optimize load times.



Preparing the website for publication
The publication of the website was associated with a careful preparation process including, among others:
- Training for client-side administrators on the BETA (test) version
- Introduction of content in multilingual versions (5 language versions)
- Manual testing in a test environment, including forms, social media links, integration with the email delivery system, and marketing consent management
- Website loading speed optimization
- SEO optimization, remarketing database launch, and website metering
- Security testing
The implementation price, as always, includes full copyright to the designs and code with the right to make any changes.
