“DDD”, or Free Shipping Day – is it worth it?

Free Shipping Day is a campaign aimed at encouraging people to shop online. As it turns out, it is not only customers who benefit from it, but also online store owners.

Year by year, more and more entrepreneurs operating in the e-commerce industry join the DDD. It is estimated that the number of e-shops involved in the campaign in 2014 exceeded 2,500. For entrepreneurs, this day is an ideal opportunity to promote and acquire new customers.

A survey conducted at the end of 2014 showed that 90% of online stores recorded significantly higher traffic on Free Shipping Day, and 80% of respondents unanimously stated that the number of orders during the DDD increased compared to the November average. Stores that decided to participate in the campaign recorded a 2-fold (236%) increase in the number of orders compared to the previous day.
Free Shipping Day is a chance to promote the brand and helps attract new, loyal customers. With the development of digitalization, more and more purchases will be made via the Internet, and such campaigns influence the strengthening of the brand on the e-commerce market. Despite the fact that during the DDD, e-stores pay extra for delivery from their own pockets, they decide to do so more and more often. No wonder – the e-commerce market is very competitive, and Free Shipping Day is an extremely effective advertisement.
